History is important to us! Each of our homestead projects starts with a great deal of historical research. We go back into town records to find out about the original owners of a home, their extended families, careers and their positions in the community. Often we find their gravestones in the local cemetery, and once in a while we even manage to locate their living descendants! We compile all of this information into a special album for the homestead’s new family, creating a bond that spans the centuries.
